Four experts in radio broadcasting and production headline our Women Working in Radio workshop on Saturday 28 June, 2-4pm.

Sue Howard Former Director of ABC Radio and broadcaster
Tracy Bartram Radio presenter, writer and comedian
 
Hosted by Chris Keogh, our panelists will talk about their extensive careers in radio, followed by a Q&A.
 
This forum will also explore media possibilities beyond radio – content and skills that transfer across radio, film, TV and new media.

WIFT (Victoria) and Swinburne Film and Television are hosting our second annual event for IWD celebrating women graduates of our leading film schools – a one night only screening of rarely seen, award-winning short films from Swinburne alumni  followed by Q&A with a panel of the filmmakers.

Then join us for a drink, finger food and networking after the screening!

WIFT (Vic) AGM and Christmas Party 2013

Producer FIONA EAGGER & writer YSABELLE DEAN from the acclaimed ABC TV and Every Cloud Production “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries” will be “In Conversation” at our AGM followed by a Q&A where WIFT members can hear the inside story of this gorgeously costumed, female character driven production, shot in Melbourne & set in the 1920s.

Please join the Board & members of WIFT Victoria & women from Victoria’s busy screen production industry to celebrate  Christmas with an exploration of the success of the fabulous “Miss Fisher” series. Hear about what WIFT(Vic) has been up to this year & plans for 2014.

To commemorate the 110th anniversary of the first time women voted in an Australian Federal election, WIFT (Vic) is screening the documentary “Utopia Girls” about how women won the vote. Produced by Renegade for the ABC, the film tells the fascinating story about how Australian women became the first in the world to gain full political rights. Historian Dr Clare Wright will discuss making the documentary and new ABC Head of Factual will answer your questions about the commissioning process for ABC documentaries.
